Alla Pichugina, Mother of Alexey Pichugin, is 79 Years Old Today

Today, February 15, is Alla Pichugina’s birthday. She is 79 years old.

Due to her son’s imprisonment since 2003, he has been unable to celebrate her birthday with his mother for the past fifteen years.

Their physical separation has not affected their bond however, and Mr. Pichugin regularly writes to her and inquires about her health.

In 2016, Mrs. Pichugina unsuccessfully appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to pardon her son.
