Alexey Pichugin located at Lefortovo [jail in Moscow]
Alexey Pichugin, who was transferred from the Orenburg prison camp late last week to an unknown destination, is at Lefortovo investigative facility in the country’s capital [Moscow], Pichugin’s mother Alla Pichugina told Novaya Gazeta.
“We’re hoping to get a care package to him,” she said.
However, she doesn’t know the details or the official reasons for his transfer from the “Black Dolphin.” Alexey has not yet been allowed visitation with his family. His lawyers are making no comments.
Last Thursday, July 1, sources in the penitentiary system told Novaya Gazeta that Alexey Pichugin was transported form the Black Dolphin prison camp, presumably to Moscow.
Pichugin’s transfer from prison occurred two months before the Netherlands Supreme Court is set to issue a final ruling on Yukos shareholders’ lawsuit against Russia seeking $57 Bln. in damages for unlawful expropriation of assets. The decision is expected to be announced September 24.
